This is a two week program that combines an introduction to the anthropology of southern
Mexico and the fieldmethods used in anthropological investigations.
Students will combine trips to local archaeological, historical and
contemporary sites (art museums, galleries, craft producing towns) with
experiential learning in fieldmethods. The final portion of the course
will include participating in "TEQUIO" (communal labor) in the village
of Santa ANa del Valle and a banquet celebration (where local foods
will be served). Spanish is NOT required."
